Then the price range and quality should be right on que. In the future, I may rework the circuit to use the unused section. Alternatively, move the trimpot on the board to a panel-mount pot. Source resistor for Q1; buffered signal appears across this resistor. I hate this pedal, it's junk to me.
This project is another take on an improved Electro-Harmonix™ Dr.
Q™ Filter from the site and the schematic is here. Thanks to Dean. I have a vintage Doctor Q (mids I'm guessing) that produces no output - it looks like it may have been subjected to someone's attempt to mod.
I own a DR Q original from the 70's, that's stunning on a guitar! Straight I just went over jack ormans schematic and noticed those before you.
Just stick a k or k pot in variable resistor mode in parallel with the 10uf time constant cap. Either a plain guitar or compressor to input seemed to work good, when carefully adjusted, of course any pre-boosting or volume controlling at guitar throws the Env.
Barnett - Leonard Mich. Replace the k feedback resistor in the filter with a k fixed resistor and 1M pot.

Other improvements are for stability of the trigger and for the effective range of the filter part. Sounded real cool sometimes, but had many limitations and requirments of other circuits.

Higher resistance gets you a more focussed filter and a little more output.

|Here are the parts values, and what each part does for the Envelope Detector: caps in uF unless noted; pots are audio taper unless noted.
Some of those add very good features and address the shortcomings of the original like J.
SMF 2. R8 33 Isolates the DC power to U1 from electrical trash that might be on the V1 power bus, and limits the current available to U1 under fault conditions Rsens Adjusts how much of the buffered signal drives the envelope detector; this allows for varying how much envelope you get for a given signal level.
I like both the Nurse Quacky and the Dr.

The circuit is fairly simple, schematic is below. Electro Harmonix Doctor Q Envelope Follower from Nano series. The first one looks like original factory schematic, but the scan quality isn't.
I was looking for the threads for mods to the Doctor Q, but most of I traded for a Doctor Q and it came in but now I know why they traded it:).

Notice that the envelope detector, Module 7, should be first it the FXBus chain, as it buffers the input signal and redrives the signal into the next FXBus "In" point, and also generates the "SCout" sidechain signal that modulates the filter response of the VCF.
I hate this pedal, it's junk to me. Isolates the DC power to U1 from electrical trash that might be on the V1 power bus, and limits the current available to U1 under fault conditions.

He got a Dr. Time and experience tell me that variable decay is the less problematic and provides the most noticeable change in feel for the least effort. I had lovehate with Nurse Quacky.
U1 dual opamp Most any dual opamp; TL, LM, all work well; I picked a dual opamp even though only one section is used because they're about as cheap as a single, and duals are useful for other projects as well, so you can get them cheaper by buying in higher quantity. Higher resistance gets you a more focussed filter and a little more output.

Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible. With R6 and C3, determines the gain of the envelope detector after the sensitivity control sets the sensitivity level.
